CHINA ANGEL sprang a huge
surprise when she romped to an easy win in the RM55,000 National Stud Farm
Silver Bowl for Malaysian breds over 1200m here today.
The four-year-old by
Nuclear Breeze out of the Torrential I'm Classy has been disappointing since
her only previous win eight months ago. So it was not a surprise that the
mare started at long odds and she paid RM343 for a win.
What was unexpected,
however, that she raise her game and won by three and a quarter lengths over
the equine millionaire SUMMER FIESTA, although she did enjoy a 10kg 'pull'
over the later.
Rising apprentice Ruzaini
Supien once again showed his potential with a double on LET'S GO (Van
Nistelrooy - Ransom Bay by Red Ransom) and VERY POWERFUL, the former
resuming after a spell to register his first win in 11 starts.
For VERY POWERFUL (Tale Of
The Cat - Bagua Lass by Octagonal), it was his first win since February 2007
when he recorded his only previous success.
