Muhd Mutaza Mohd Salleh won
the final event on REAL IMPACT to lead the Malaysian apprentices to a
resounding win in the Apprentice Jockeys Invitational over their Singapore
counterparts at Sungei Besi here today. The final score was 85-64.
Mutaza also emerged top
individual with 35 points. The Malaysian lads now lead the Singapore boys
4-3 in the annual challenge which began in 2003.
The Singapore lads, who
were almost white-washed in yesterday's race, put themselves back in the
running when Mark Ewe scored an easy win on TIC TOC (Johannesburg - Sense Of
Rhythm by Rhythm), followed by his teammate TR Barnabas on APACHE EAGLE.
But Mutaza, who finished
second yesterday, came to fore in the final event to score on REAL IMPACT
(Strategic Image - Moss Arising by He Is Risen), who found the end of a long
lane to register his maiden win in 22 starts.
