Australian jockey Aaron Austin landed his
first win in Malaysia when he booted home BLUE RANCHO in a Class 4 - 1200m
sprint at Sungei Besi here today.
It
was his fifth day of riding in Malaysia for the first time and the
Australian had to wait until the very last race of the day to achieve a
career milestone - his
90th win.
BLUE RANCHO (Rancho Ruler -
Graceful Lady by Top Of The Pack) broke through for his maiden win two
starts back and rather surprisingly, he was immediately transferred to is
current trainer Steven Cook.
Veteran New Zealand jockey
Grant Cooksley, returning to ride in the circuit after a lapse of several
years, also booted home his first winner in his current visit when
successful on JERAM FATT CHOY (Intergaze - Spicy Bounty by Celestial
Bounty).
Trainer Osman Sidek, who is
enjoying his best season yet, saddled a double today including the feature
event, the RM80,000 Selangor Trophy for Class 3 horses over 1600m with SINAR
PELANGI.
After finding one to beat
thrice in his first seven starts, SINAR PELANGI (Faltaat - Danewhisper by
Danehill) had now chalked up three consecutive wins.
The double today brought
Osman's tally to 20 for the season, which is more than his total for the
past three years. |
