Polytrack specialists BUMBLE BEE and LAGO BAY
scorched the track to win in record times in their respective races on the
alternative track at Kranji here tonight.
BUMBLE BEE (Bertolini - All About Money by One
Pound Sterling) continued his remarkable progress through the ranks when he
took out the Benchmark 83 - 1800m event, covering the distance in 1:52.4,
shaving 0.8 second off the previous record set by RICOCO last year.
It was his fourth win in his last five starts,
with all his victories coming on the polytrack.
LAGO BAY (Delago Brom - Shirley's Luvena by El
Moxie), who finished dead last in his last two starts, bounced back in style
when he defeated some smart opposition to win the Kranji Stakes B - 1000m
sprint.
In the process, the
four-year-old equalled his own course record time of 59 secs. which he set
three starts ago. It was his fourth win in 12 starts and all his wins have
come over 1000m on the polytrack as well.
Newcomer CAIYAYA (Colombia
- Pesaro by Pevero) created impression when he trashed his opposition by
five lengths to win the Restricted Maiden - 1000m sprint.
RYAN JAMES (Thorn Park -
Mighty Myrtle by O'Reilly) resumed from a short let-up to make it three wins
in four starts in the Class 3 - 1200m handicap.
