BLESSWITHSPEED stepped up
on his superb third over 1200m last week to capture the RM250,000 Sports
Toto Trophy for Classes 1 & 2 horses over 1400m at Sungei Besi here today.
A winner over 1400m here in
April and placed over 1600m before that, BLESSWITHSPEED (Brahms - Pottinger
by Al Hareb) appreciated the longer trip today to register his fourth win in
eight starts.
BLESSWITHSPEED managed just
one win in 11 starts in Australia but has made tremendous progress since
arriving in Malaysia. Just two starts back, the four-year-old was still
racing in Class 3.
Meanwhile, PERFECT PINS
(Pins - La Cent by Centaine) maintained his unbeaten record when he trashed
his rivals to win the RM130,000 Kenilworth Cup over 1200m.
The international jockeys
race featured jockeys from Korea, Singapore based French rider Eric Legrix,
Macau based Australian Bent Stanley as well as top local riders.
But the big 'loser' was
Noel Callow, who booted home four winners from seven rides last week,
including PERFECT PINS. The Aussie was stood down from all his rides after
his urine sample taken last week returned a positive test. He was replaced by Rio
Burnett on PERFECT PINS today.
CONJURE (Magic Of Money -
Kuala Lady by Centaine), who broke through for his maiden win last time,
continued to make progress by winning the RM200,000 National Stud Farm
Challenge Cup, a 1600m event for graduates of the National Premier Sale.
