'Fantastic' milestone for
Rio Burnett IPOH, 27

FANTASTIC GIFT ended a
series of minor placings to win the Da Ma Cai Stakes (Class 4 - 1800m) and
provided jockey Rio Burnett with a career milestone.
Placed in all his last six
starts over 1400m and 1600m, FANTASTIC GIFT (Indian Danehill - Nanset by
Bigstone) appreciated the longer trip today to win by three quarters of a
length, his first success since winning his debut in August last year.
FANTASTIC GIFT was the 80th
win for Burnett, who was indentured to his father Malcolm in Perth before
returning home to continue his career.
Malcolm was a top rider in
Kuching before moving to Perth to train and Burnett has shown that he is one
of the more accomplished riders around. Only his riding weight which limited
his riding opportunities has prevented him from having more winners to his
name.
