CAPTAIN OBVIOUS cruises to victory in the Malaysian 2009
Magic Millions Classic

CAPTAIN OBVIOUS continued to the impressive start to his career by capturing the RM1m Malaysia 2009 Magic Millions Classic over 1200m here today.

The huge increase in prizemoney this year's event marked the inclusion of Singapore entries for the first time in the 10-year history of the race.

Three runners from Singapore made the trip up north but CAPTAIN OBVIOUS (Verglas - Shathor by Tirol), with two wins and two seconds from his first four outings, was simply too good for his rivals, leading from start to finish to win by two and a quarter lengths.

One of the Singapore runners, the Brian Bean-trained LUCKY SUPERSTAR (Lucky Owners - Silkwood Star by Woodman) was a surprise second after starting at long odds.

NEW TARGET (Iglesia - So In Need by Nediym), with three wins from his first seven starts, came home third.
