Duric returned from a suspension to guide GOLDSCHATZ to victory in the Group
3 S$175,000 Pronin Construct Stakes over 1700m, the first Group race on the
polytrack, at Kranji here tonight.
In recording his first
success on the polytrack, GOLDSCHATZ (Pins - Centri Belle by Centaine)
defeated polytrack specialist BUMBLE BEE who had recorded all his four wins
thus far on that surface.
Denied a run at the top of
the straight, GOLDSCHATZ eventually got going and wore down BUMBLE BEE to
win by one length for his fifth win in 26 starts.
GOLDSCHATZ covered the
distance in a time of 1:45.8, shaving 0.4 sec. off the previous course
record set by YARI COZZENE.
Trainer Stephen Gray is now
considering sending GOLDSCHATZ to contest the Yang Di Pertua Negeri Gold Cup
in Penang on Dec 27.
