sting in 4YO Mile

THE HORNET returned to age
group racing for the first time in seven months and promptly captured the
S$200,000 Singapore Four-Year-Old Mile over 1600m at Kranji here today.
One of the top
three-year-olds last season with five victories including the final leg of
the Three-Year-Old Challenge over 1600m last July, THE HORNET (High Yield -
Millennium Miss by Flying Spur) has since been campaigning in open company,
finishing second in the Chairman's Trophy, third in the Kranji Mile and
second in the Raffles Cup.
Second in his seasonal
debut earlier this month, THE HORNET was partnered by Peter Knuckey for the
first time and the pair out-lasted the very game QUIERO BAILAR to win by a
short head today.
The Singapore Derby in July
has long been the target of his trainer Douglas Dragon. But after his
victory today, Dragon is now eyeing the Singapore Airlines International Cup
in May.
