Jerome Tan granted stables

Jerome Tan Eng Tee, whose application for a trainer's licence was registered with the Malayan Racing Association on June 15, was today issued with his professional trainer's licence after the Penang Turf Club granted him 32 stables at Batu Gantong. The 42-year-old Singaporean was one of two assistant trainers to Roslan Pawanteh who passed away after a heart attack last Saturday. Tan, who is married with two kids, is expected to send out his first runner during the July meeting at Sungei Besi. Tan started out as a syce with Cecil Robert in Penang in 1996. He also served under Tan Hor Khoon and Lionel Lee at Kranji before returning to Penang to join Roslan. |
