Newly licenced trainer PS
Kumaran, who made his debut two months ago, saddled his first winner with
VODKA N ICE in a Class 5 - 1200m sprint at Sungei Besi here today.
Two races later, he
celebrated the breakthrough with another success with AROWANA PRINCE.
Kumaran had recently taken
over VODKA N ICE (Kenfair - Insecta by Steel Pulse) and he immediately
brought the six-year-old back to form to register the gelding's second win
in 26 starts.
AROWANA PRINCE (Seignorial
- Royal Avenue by Carry A Smile), recently sold to a new owner, was also
racing for the first time under Kumaran. For the six-year-old, it was his
fourth win in 37 starts.
Champion jockey Azhar
Ismail marked his return to racing from injury when he partnered SPEEDY WIND
(Dash For Cash - Tulipano by Centaine) to win the last event today.
