Trainer Leck disqualified two and a half years

SINGAPORE,  4 Sept 2009

Trainer Charles Leck, disqualified three years last month after three of his horses returned positive swabs in 2007, will now serve two and a half years after an appeal.

Leck was handed a three-year disqualification on each of three charges with regards to the horses ARABIAN STAR, KINGTRAP and JUSTOHELP. They were to be served concurrently.

The race meeting stewards of the Singapore Turf Club allowed Leck's appeal against the severity of the penalty imposed by the stipendiary stewards. In regards to penalty, the disqualification for each charge was reduced to a period of two and a half years to be served concurrently with immediate effect.
