Mighty show in Astro Wah Lai Toi Vase

KUALA LUMPUR,  11 Oct 2009

MIGHTY TRIPLE ACE upsets the big guns to capture the RM250,000 Astro Wah Lai Toi Vase over 1400m at Sungei Besi here today.

Unplaced in the Selangor Gold Cup last April in his only previous test in the big races, MIGHTY TRIPLE ACE (Testa Rossa - Brave Scene by Scenic) has however been consistent since, winning a Table 1 Race over 1200m last Sunday.

With Australian jockey Aaron Austin partnering him again, MIGHTY TRIPLE ACE romped home by one and three quarters lengths in an all-outsider finish with JERAM DELIGHT finishing second and HAPPY VICTORY third.

It was the seventh win in 18 starts for MIGHTY TRIPLE ACE who is trained by Johnny Lim.

It was ladies day at the races at Sungei Besi today and WHY WHY WEST (Spartacus - Lover's Chariot by Zephyr Zip), whose rider was suspended one month for his handling of the mare last week, won the RM80,000 Fashion On The Turf for fillies and mares over 1400m.
