Moreira returns to Singapore in style

Joao Moreira returns to riding in Singapore with a 'bang' when he partnered BEST BID to victory in the Class 3 - 1400m sprint at Kranji here tonight.

Moreira took a two-month break in his native Brazil, after a highly successful six months during which he booted home 55 winners in Singapore.

On his first day back at Kranji, Moreira wasted no time picking up where he left off to score on  BEST BID (Bite The Bullet - Savage Scene by Baryshnikov), whom he had partnered to victory in the gelding's only previous win last September.

It’s a real pleasure to be back here again,” said Moreira. "I won on him (BEST BID) before I went home and he was one horse I rode this week in trackwork."

TESKARA (Testa Rossa - Costa Kara by Encosta De Lago) picked up his fourth win in Singapore when he captured the mini feature, the Admiralty Classic Stakes over 1800m.

TESKARA had won two races in Australia before coming out here to join trainer Michael Freedman.
