Daring Tourist

It was lucky No. 12 for
both horse and jockey when DARING TOURIST, ridden by apprentice Oon Yik Yan,
won the Class 5, Div 1 - 1400m sprint at Kranji today.
DARING TOURIST (Occidental
Tourist - Dressed In Black by Mi Preferido) managed just two placings in 11
previous starts but showed vast improvement when ridden by Oon for the first
time to win by four lengths.
Oon, who is indentured to
DARING TOURIST's trainer Cliff Brown, had five rides in a short stint in
Perth and has have six rides after his return without success.
But the young lad showed a
lot of confidence to bring DARING TOURIST from well off the pace early to
beat the front running FORTUNE WARRIOR (Viking Ruler - Danzalota by
Danzatore).
"He’s
a great kid and for him to get a win so early in his career will do wonders
for him," said Brown who was saddling up DARING TOURIST for just the second
time today.
