Olivier Placais back for 10-week stint

Olivier Placais, who last rode in Singapore in 2003, will be back for a 10-week stint from next week.

The Frenchman chalked up five wins and 18 placings from 110 rides from December 2002 to February 2003 at Kranji.

The 25-year-old has since established himself as a leading rider in Switzerland where he claimed the champion jockey title from 2006 to 2008.

In a career spanning 10 years, Placais has garnered a tally of 324 wins, including five at Group 3 level, of which the most notable are the Group 3 Prix Exbury and Prix Corrida, both in 2002 with JOMANA for Sheik Mohammed. Placais goes to scale at 53kg.
