RESTORED collars RICOCO to win
the Queen Elizabeth II Cup

RESTORED showed that his
surprise win in the MRA Cup last February was no fluke when he carved out a
narrow victory in the S$350,000 Queen Elizabeth II Cup over 2000m at Kranji
here today.
It was a mighty effort for
the Dr Yeoh Kheng Chye trained stayer who settled second behind the pacemaker RICOCO who held a clear lead into the straight and was
still three quarters of a length in front at the 100m.
But RESTORED (Red Ransom -
Pristine Kristine by Spinning World), asked for a final effort by jockey
John Powell in the closing stages, responded to collar RICOCO in the shadows
of the winning post to win by a neck.
RESTORED, winner of his
only start over 1600m at Matamata in New Zealand, will now be aimed for the
Singapore Derby in July where he is likely to match up with RICOCO and the
third placegetter today, IMPERIAL GREEN, again.
