MEXICAN ROSE came out
smelling as sweet as ever in her first test in open company in the Kranji
Stakes A - 1200m sprint at Kranji here tonight.

Saimee Jumaat, the three-year-old by Volksraad out of the Gone West mare
Down View tracked stablemate WHY BE till the home straight, then raced past
the former champion with ease to win by two and a half lengths.
With the victory, MEXICAN
ROSE stretch her record in Singapore to five wins in five starts which
included the Magic Millions Juvenile Championship in July.
"She
just keeps rising to the challenge", said Saimee of the latest star on the
Singapore turf.
Prior to coming to
Singapore, MEXICAN ROSE won two of her three starts in New Zealand, with her
only defeat coming in the NZ$1m Karaka Millions.
