Apprentice Ruzaini bin Supien
made a dream debut as a MRA-licenced rider when he partnered WAIT THE
TIME to victory in the Class 5 - 1400m sprint at Sungei Besi today.
Indentured to Stephen Cook,
it was Evert van Breukelen who provided the young lad with the breakthrough
on the veteran galloper who recorded his first win after a lapse of three
and a half years.
WAIT THE TIME (Langfuhr -
Touch And Glow by Vain) had won three races in Singapore when racing as
LANGSTON.
It was not the first career
win for Ruzaini though. During his attachment with
Neville Parnham in Perth under the MRA
Apprentice Jockeys Scheme, he landed 14 winners 'down under' including six
at Ascot. His riding name in Australia was
R
Supien.
A resurgent MASQUERAIN
captured the Wuhan Jockey Club Goodwill Cup (Progress - 1200m), a new
reciprocal race with the Chinese racing club.
Since his move across the
causeway and a change of name from QUICK SAND, MASQUERAIN (Sandtrap - Irish
Edition by O'Reilly) has registered two wins and two placings in four
starts. He had campaigned for nearly two years in Singapore for two wins.
