Apprentice See lands first Singapore win

A day after J L Li landed his first winner in Singapore, follow apprentice Joseph See did the same when he booted home NORTHERN LION in the Restricted Maiden - 1100m sprint on the polytrack at Kranji today.

Two-year-old NORTHERN LION (Ishiguru - Capebay by Kaapstad), a NZ$65,000 purchase at the Ready To Run Sale, made all the running to win by half-a-length from another newcomer NEW ROSE WOOD.

See rode 10 winners when attached to Robert Harvey in Perth last year. "I’ve ridden winners at provincial and country meetings in Western Australia, places like Carnarvon and Northam, but this is a different thrill,” said See. "I’ve waited for a long time for this moment to ride my first winner at my home town."

Meanwhile Joao Moreira and Robbie Fradd shared riding honours when they booted home three winners each.
