Trophy PENANG, 11 Aug 2009 |
||
CHEYENNE DANCER will defend his RM1m Astro Wah Lai Toi Sprint Trophy crown come Aug 30. CHEYENNE DANCER was trained by Frank Maynard when he outclassed his rivals in the 1400m sprint last December. Last year's race was slated to be run in early September but the race was cancelled due to an unsafe track. This year, however, CHEYENNE DANCER (Indian Danehill - Daylight Hour by Brief Truce) will contest the race as a Singapore-trained runners, after his transfer to Singapore earlier this year. CHEYENNE DANCER, now trained by Michael Freedman, is one of two Singapore based horses who have been entered for the Sprint Trophy, which will be staged as a set-weight event for the first time in its history. Sprint Trophy was inaugurated in 1981 as a weight-for-age event. The other Singapore entry is FANTASTIC OWNERS (Fantastic Light - Queen Of State by Volksraad), trained by Brian Dean. |
