Urine samples of two winners and two place-getters who ran during the second weekend of the Gold Cup meeting in Penang on Dec 27 and 28 have returned positive tests. Samples taken from CHIEF OF HONOUR, winner of the Sungei Ara Handicap (Class 5 - 1700m) and BEST INVESTMENTS, who ran third in the Teluk Kumbar Handicap (Class 5 - 1200m) on Dec 27, revealed the presence of “3-Hydroxy-N-methylmorphinan”. Both horses are trained by Mohamed Sukri. The samples of DREAM EMPEROR, winner of the Three Year Old Special Stakes over 1200m, and SPEED RANGER, placed third in the Japan Bloodhorse Breeders Association Trophy (Class 1 - 1400m), reavealed the presence of “Ketotifen & Salbutamol”. Both horses are trained by Abdul Rahim. Inquiries into the above matters will be held on a date to be fixed. |
