SINGAPORE,  3 Feb 2009

The Singapore Turf Club will be adopting a more flexible starting time for the first race on Singapore racedays. The starting time of the first race on a raceday will now depend on the number of races being held on that particular day.

The starting times are as follows:
 

Saturday/Sunday/Public Holidays Race Meetings
Number of Races	9 races	10 races	11 races	12 races
1st Race	1.45 pm	1.15 pm	1.15 pm	12.45 pm
Last Race (approximate)	6.00 pm	6.00 pm	6.30 pm	6.30 pm

 

Friday Night Race Meetings
Number of Races	7 races	8 races	9 races
1st Race	7.00 pm	7.00 pm	6.30 pm
Last Race (approximate)	10.00 pm	10.30 pm	10.30 pm

The changes are made following feedback from customers who indicated that they prefer Singapore races to end slightly earlier on Singapore racedays held on weekend and public holidays when 12 races are being held. In addition, customers indicated a preference for a slightly later start on Friday night meetings should there be less than nine races on the programme.

This will be with effect from the Friday night race meeting of Feb 6.

Currently, the starting time of the first race on weekends and public holidays is 1.15pm and Friday night races start at 6.30pm.
