Two new trainers for Singapore

SINGAPORE,  17 Dec 2009

The Singapore training ranks will be boosted by the inclusion of Mok Zhan Lun and Alvin Tan Hai Wang in the new season.

Mok and Tan recently had their applications for a professional trainer licence officially registered by MRA.

Mok, 35, has had considerable experience in the horse-racing industry, having worked as an assistant trainer since 2005, while Tan, 40, was an assistant trainer in Kentucky before returning to Singapore to take up a similar position in 2006.

Both newcomers have been granted 36 racing stable stalls at the Singapore Turf Club, with Mok’s becoming available on Dec 21 and Tan’s one week later.

They replace the positions vacated by Susumu Nigishi, who returns to Japan after the current Singapore season ends on Sunday, and Lionel Lee, whose stable contract has not been renewed for the new season.
