After serving a one-month
suspension for careless riding, and having to wait to get back to action due
to the cancellation of races caused by a Strangles case, Azhar Ismail
returned to saddle with a vengeance here today.
Azhar scored his first ride
of the afternoon on GOOD TALK (Johannesburg - Schema by Anabaa) who broke
through for his first win in seven starts.
Another three rides later,
Azhar reeled off three consecutive wins to emerge the new leader in the
jockey's table with 41 wins, one ahead of Noel Callow who is still away in
Australia.
Azhar's other winners were
SPEED TRAIN (Gold Mine - Shaayil by Haayil), who made it three wins in eight
starts, HOT BUTTERFLY (Fastnet Rock - Laguna Lake by Ofyle), who recorded
his third win in six runs, and FLYING CAT (Tale Of The Cat - Miss Chakra by
Marscay), who has now scored thrice in nine outings.
Meanwhile, Singapore
discard PRINCE GOLDHEART (Desert Prince - Dance A Gallop by Salieri) made it
four wins in four starts in Malaysia with another impressive win in the
Table 1 - 1400m sprint.
