Singapore's rising star
BETTER THAN EVER toyed with the opposition to win the S$350,000 Singapore
Three-Year-Old Classic, the second leg of the three-year-old series, in
runaway fashion at Kranji here today.
With regular rider Saimee
in the saddle, BETTER THAN EVER (French Deputy - Songfest by Unbridled's
Song) took command on settling down and had a slight lead going into the
straight.
Then he opened up in
devastating style in the home stretch to win by seven lengths, proving he is
a class above of his class this season and keeping his unbeaten record
intact. He has now won all his eight starts.

BETTER THAN EVER will now go for the Singapore Guineas, the final leg of the
triple crown, next month. After winning the first leg, the Three-Year-Old
Sprint, the Australian gelding stands of collect a bonus of $150,000 should
he win the Guineas.
"He
is such a brilliant horse, "said Saimee. "He is definitely one of the best
gallopers I have ridden. He just does everything you ask of him. He responds
when you ask him for an effort but will relax when you need him to."
