Better Than Ever runs away with Raffles Cup

After giving his backers a scare before winning the Kranji Mile last time out, BETTER THAN EVER returned to his formidable best when he romped to an easy victory in the Visit Indonesia Raffles Cup over 1800m at Kranji here today.

With the victory, the four-year-old earned a $50,000 bonus for winning the first two legs of the Singapore Triple Crown series and the third leg, the Singapore Gold Cup next month, could be on the card for the Australian gelding. It will depend how many points he picked up today as the Gold Cup is a handicap event.

As it is, BETTER THAN EVER (French Deputy - Songfest by Unbridled's Song) has stretched his unbeaten run to 12 starts and has now won in excess of $1.6mil for the NZ$80,000 yearling.
