BETTER THAN EVER stretched
his unbeaten record to seven runs when he captured the S$250,000 Singapore
Three-Year-Old Sprint over 1200m at Kranji here tonight.
Trainer Laurie Laxon's star
was backed as if he could not lose, and he once again toyed with his
opposition to win as he liked by three lengths, ahead of the second
favourite ALWAYS CERTAIN.
"It
was a dominant win," said Saimee who only had to ride his mount hands and
heels. "I’ve ridden a lot of good horses over the years,” he said. “This
horse is one of the best I have ridden, but it’s still a bit too early to
say whether he’s the best."
BETTER THAN EVER was
Saimee's second winner of the evening, after his win on ACE ARMANDO (Pins -
Centaforce by Centaine).
But it was Joao Moreira,
back in action after serving a three-day suspension, who took riding honours
with a treble.
