Noel Callow has returned
with a vengeance, booting home a treble on his first day back in the saddle.
The jockey has been away in
Australia for the past several weeks to sort out personal matters, during
which time he lost the lead in the jockey's table to Azhar Ismail who has 46
wins todate.
But wins on SUNCUMUPMUSTBET,
OCEAN PRESENT and RED WARRIOR today saw Callow closed the gap to just three.
Despite not showing up in
11 previous starts, SUNCUMUPMUSTBET (Ombra Della Sera - Regal Chalice by
Galveston) started odds-on and duly obliged by a neck.
OCEAN PRESENT (Lucky Owners
- Kirin Lady by Luskin Sta), a one-time winner in Australia, was having his
second start in the country while eight-year-old RED WARRIOR (Piccolo -
Dance Star by Semipalatinsk) recorded his sixth win.
But Callow was not the only
one with a treble. Leading apprentice Muhd Mutaza's red hot form this season
with wins on MIGHTY DIVA (Hemingway - Bobby Pin by Brackenbury), TIGER LADY
(Becquerel - Dragon Lady by Pompeii Court) and UPTHEANTE (Naturalism -
Silent Water by Pre Emptive Strike).
