The Stewards concluded an inquiry into the matter at the Selangor Turf Club today. Evidence was taken from trainer LN Danis, Prof Dr Tan Soo Choon, the Chief Analyst, Usains Holding Sdn Bhd and Dr James Yu, the Veterinary Surgeon of the Selangor Turf Club.

Danis pleaded guilty to a charge under MRA Rule 134(6)(a) as read with MRA Rule 134(13) and punishable under MRA Rule 134(7) in that he accepted to run FLAME LILY which ran third in the above-mentioned race and its post race urine sample subsequently returned positive to "Diclofenac & Indomethacin", prohibited substances under MRA Rules.

In deciding on penalty, the Stewards took into consideration Danis’ mitigating factors, the nature of the drug and his previous record. Danis was fined RM15,000 and was advised of his right of appeal.

In addition, in terms of MRA Rule 134(11), FLAME LILY was disqualified from the race and the results were amended accordingly.
