Duric takes lead with four winners

Vlad Duric shot to the lead in the jockey's table with four winners at Kranji tonight. It brought his season tally to 16.

Since arriving in Singapore last April, Duric had thrice booted home a treble, helping him to finish seventh in the table with 51 winners last year.

Duric was off the mark tonight with newcomer  BLACK ICE (Mugharreb - Lady Migaloo by General Nediym), then had back-to-back wins with INTERCEPT (Zerpour - Haughty Miss by Heroicity) and ABDICATE (Octagonal - The Wrythe by Twig Moss).

INTERCEPT had racegoers on the edge of their seats as he prevailed in a three-way photo in the Class 3 - 1400m handicap, winning by a nose.

ABDICATE caused an upset in the main event of the evening, the Class 2 - 1400m sprint, returning $101 for a win in the seven-horse field.

Duric then ended the evening on a winning note on NOT MY FAULT (No Excuse Needed - Scally Wag by Danasinga).
