Unraced newcomers PACIFIC
GENERAL and GOOD STRIKER quickly their marks when they scored surprise wins
in the opening two events at Kranji here this evening.
PACIFIC GENERAL (General
Nediym - Ellawin by Danewin) won by the narrowest of margins in the Maiden -
1200m sprint, then had to survive an objection by the second-placed BLITZ.
GOOD STRIKER (Monashee
Mountain - Dizzy Dame by Umatilla) was sold for just A$8,000 as a yearling
but he caught the eye when presented at the Horses In Training Sale at two
and was knocked down for A$67,500.
Olivier Placais, who rode
GOOD STRIKER, went on to complete a double with BIG MINAKO (Black
Minnaloushe - Reining Stars by Star Way) in the Kranji Stakes C - 2400m
event.
The evening's races ended
on a shock note when MARAETI (Align - Ecstatically by Danzero) broke through
for his maiden win in 12 starts to pay S$391 for a win.
