Rested after winning the
Magic Millions Juvenile Championship last July, GINGERBREAD MAN started his
three-year-old campaign with a stylish victory in the Dubai Racing Club
Trophy (Progress - 1200m) at Kranji here tonight, providing champion
jockey-elect Joao Moreira with his fourth consecutive winner of the evening.
GINGERBREAD MAN (Shamardal
- Quaffle by Hurricane Sky) was the top two-year-old of his class, chalking
up three wins and two seconds in as many starts.
Moreira was partnering the
colt for the first time tonight and reckoned there is still of a lot
improvement left in the youngster who could have a big say in the
Three-Year-Old series next year.
Earlier, Moreira had scored
on two other horses he rode for the first time, ROTORUA (Chianti - Tangelo
by Exploding Prospect) and SIMPLE MAN (King's Chapel - Casualaire by Casual
Lies).
Moreira's third winner of
the veneing was ZAC VELOCITY (Success Express - Bacharach by Marscay) and
the four-timer brought his tally to 111 for the season.
