Singapore discard PRINCE
GOLDHEART, who began his Malaysian campaign with a runaway win in a Home
Based race in Ipoh last Saturday, made it a winning double when he captured
the RM75,000 Equine Capital Cup (Class 3 - 1400m) here today.
Following his 9 3/4-length
win last week, PRINCE GOLDHEART (Desert Prince - Dance A Gallop by Salieri)
was sent out a firm favourite in the feature race today.
With BN Shahrul partnering
him again, the five-year-old who won just one race in 10 starts in
Singapore, again led his rivals on a merry chase and went to the line six
lengths clear of the rest.
Newcomer IKEBUKURO (Marwina
- Southern Royale by Salieri) scored a first-up win in the second Penang
heat to qualify for the Malaysian 3YO Championship final, providing new
trainer Thomas Gillespie his second winner since setting up shop in Penang a
couple of months ago.
BIG DAWN (Strategic -
Befriend by Marauding) made it six wins in 18 starts with a popular win in
the Dr Lim Ah Soo Trophy (Table 1 Race - 1400m).
