Feline Groovy back in winning form

FELINE GROOVY, who began his Singapore campaign with a hat-trick late December and early this year, was back in the groove when he won the Kranji Stakes B - 1400m sprint at Kranji tonight.

Unplaced in four outings since his last victory, FELINE GROOVY (Catbird - Cotton Bay by Zabaleta) came from last at the home turn to win by 3/4 length, thanks to a superb ride by Saimee Jumaat.

Purchased for A$155,000 as a yearling, FELINE GROOVY finished on board in five of his six starts at three in Australia, winning over 1500m at Randwick.

Meanwhile, SUPER VELOCITY and SMILING BEE created big impression when they won their respective debut at Kranji this evening.

SUPER VELOCITY (Stromberg Carlson - Genet by Yeats) came from just off the pace when he won drawing away in the Restricted Maiden, Div 1 - 1400m event, giving indication the three-year-old will be even better over a longer trip later on.

Two-year-old SMILING BEE (Anabaa - Sudden Smile by Night Shift) proved too strong for his three-year-old rivals in the Restricted Maiden - 1000m sprint on the polytrack.
