KIM BAY became the first
horse to qualify for this year's Malaysia 3YO Championship Final when she
completed a hat-trick in the first heat staged over 1200m at Sungei Besi
here today.
Following her success in
Restricted Maiden and Class 4 in her last two outings, KIM BAY (Theatre -
Kim Hostess by Kingdom Bay) gave her six rivals no chance, winning by four
lengths.
Winning trainer Mohd Sukri
will be hoping to make it two wins in three championship final, having won
the inaugural event with ISHBILIYA in 2007.
The second heat today went
to INHERITMYTALENT (Canny Lad - Allende by Nothin' Leica Dane) who had to
fight hard to defeat his rivals by a neck. It was his second win in five
starts and it provides champion trainer Johnny Lim with at least a runner in
the final comes July.
One more heat for Sungei
Besi based horses will be staged tomorrow, with three more heats to be held
in Ipoh and two in Penang in the next two months.
