Three withdrawals from internationals

SINGAPORE,  May 4, 2010

Three foreign horses have withdrawn from the upcoming internationals in Singapore on May 16.

CHINCHON from France and SUPER SATIN from Hong Kong have pulled out from the A$3m Singapore Airlines International Cup while English sprinter TOTAL GALLERY will not be taking part in the S$1m KrisFlyer International Sprint.

A shift in campaign focus was essentially the reasons given by connections for the withdrawals.

Connections of the French-trained CHINCHON decided against making the trip after a disappointing sixth in the Group 1 Prix Ganay (2100m) on May 2 while trainer Caspar Fownes stated that SUPER SATIN’s owners would rather rest up and then concentrate on the Group 1 Champions & Chater Cup (2400m) on May 30.

After TOTAL GALLERY ran sixth in the Group 3 StanJames.com Palace House Stakes at Newmarket on May 1, connections have decided to steer him towards five-furlong races at home instead, namely the Group 2 Temple Stakes in late May and the Group 1 King’s Stand Stakes in June.
