Ishbiliya in surprise comeback win

ISHBILIYA, whose promising career was plagued by injuries in the last two years, has regained her form after coming under a new trainer in the midst of this season.

Ridden by S Salee, ISHBILIYA (Akhadan - Ginger Raja by Vevaraja) sprang a big surprise when he easily defeated the favourite EASY JOCKEY and former Singapore champion sprinter WHY BE to capture the Table 1 event over the 1100m straight course here today.

ISHBILIYA began her career in style in mid-2007, winning her first four starts including the inaugural running of the Da Ma Cai Malaysia 3YO Championship.

But her career has been interrupted by several spells on the sidelines and earlier this year, she was transferred to Evert van Breukelen. Today's outing was her third under her new trainer.

EASY JOCKEY, bidding to stretch his unbeaten run to four, was simply no match for ISHBILIYA who coasted home by 3 1/4 lengths.
