Expensive import GOOD
JUDGEMENT showed his class with a masterly display in his Malaysian debut in
a Class 4 - 1200m sprint here today.
Ridden by Azhar Ismail, the
three-year-old started a raging favourite and never gave his backers any
anxious moment. Settling just off the pace, he moved up second at home turn
and opened up in fine style in the home stretch to win as he liked by 7 3/4 lengths.
Purchased by Golden Knight
Stable for A$170,000 as a yearling, GOOD JUDGEMENT (Lonhro - Aglie by Canny
Lad) was narrowly beaten in his only start in Australia before arriving here
for trainer Kevin Coetzee.
As with the Singapore
meeting yesterday, nine trainers shared the honours in the nine races
contested in this opening day of the 2010 season.
Promising apprentice
Ruzaini Supien indicated his intent in his first full season this year when
he booted home a double on ELEGANT FUSION (Magic Of Money - Up And Up by
Desert Sun) and SUMMER PRESTIGE (Wiseman's Ferry - Luge by Waquoit).
Ruzaini, who made a winning
debut last September, went on to chalk up 16 winners in Malaysia last year,
in addition to six winners at Kranji.
