JAMAL MALIK, who came from Argentina with a modest record of one win and 3 placings in seven starts, is quickly making his mark in Singapore.

Ridden by regular jockey Barend Vorster, JAMAL MALIK (Not For Sale - Capela Da Madalha) was sent out odds-on against six rivals in the Benchmark 89 - 1600m handicap at Kranji here today.

And the four-year-old did not give his backers much of a worry as he raced past pacemaker GUST to win drawing away by 1 1/4 lengths. SMOKING JOE came home late to claim second placing from GUST.

JAMAL MALIK has now won three of his last four starts and recorded four wins in nine outings in Singapore, and trainer Patrick Shaw could have a potential Derby runner next July.
