Maple Star shines again

It's back to winning ways
for MAPLE STAR when he captured the Korea Racing Authority Trophy (Benchmark
89 - 1200m) at Kranji here today.
After winning his first two
starts early in the season, the New Zealand gelding was tried out in
pacifiers, then had blinkers added in his next three outings but found one
to beat on each occasion.
With the blinkers and
pacifiers removed today, MAPLE STAR (Pins - Hideaway by Centaine) also took
advantage of a light impost to complete a double for trainer Steven Burridge
and jockey Ronnie Stewart.
Burridge had earlier sent
out PEACEFUL WARRIOR (Bel Esprit - Let's Begin by Umatilla) to victory in
the Restricted Maiden - 1200m sprint while Stewart began the day on a
winning note astride GOD OF SPEED (Shamardal - Shopping Spree by Success
Express).
