ZAC MISSILE chalked up his second win in 10 days when he came with a late surge to win the Carlsberg Gold Championship, a Benchmark 89 event, over 1800m at Kranji here today.

With a light impost of 50kg, Ronnie Stewart took the mount on the four-year-old for the first time. Whereas ZAC MISSILE (Yamanin Vital - Ranch by Rancher) led all the way over 1600m last week, this time he had to come from just off the pace to pip CLINT by a short head.

"He pulled up so well from last week’s run and I had no hesitation in backing him up," said trainer Michael Freedman.

It was the fifth win in 11 starts for ZAC MISSILE who had cost just NZ$20,000 as a yearling.
