Trainer P. Visuanathan (V
Nathan) celebrated a new lease of life when he saddled BAJA KING to victory
in a Class 4 - 1100m sprint here today.
The former
jockey-turned-trainer was initially issued a licence only till the end of
February. During this time, he tasted success once with BAJA KING at the end
of January.
His licence was latter
extended till the end of the season and he began his extended tenure when BAJA KING (Swiss Yodeler - Rosiano by Rubiano)
scored again.
It was the fourth win in 27
starts for the American entire who had two wins in 2008 and was transferred
to V Nathan in November last year.
SURE GOOD (Piccolo - Swing
And Miss by Celtic Swing), whose jockey was suspended four months for his
handling of the gelding when beaten a head in his debut last month, made
amends when he scored a runaway win in a Restricted Maiden sprint over
1200m.
SECRET ATTIRE (Secret
Savings - Delightful Attire by Cryptoclearance), only recently transferred
to Cecil Robert, made a winning start under his new trainer when triumphed
in a Class 5 - 1400m sprint. It was his third win but his first since
January last year.
