KUALA LUMPUR,  April 2, 2010

Trainer Prakhash Pereira, who was disqualified two years and fined a total of RM150,000 by the stewards on March 23, has filed an appeal and was granted a stay of sentence.

Pereira was given a week from March 23 to wind up his stable affairs and was advised of his right of appeal after he was found guilty of three charges under MRA Rule 152(3)(a).

Pereira subsequently exercised his right of appeal and applied for a stay of sentence, which after a hearing here today, was granted.
