French jockey Olivier
Placais had his best afternoon in Singapore when he booted home three
winners at Kranji today.
Placais got the ball
rolling when he steered BABA GIFT (Anabaa - Azalea by Marscay) to a narrow
victory in the Novice - 1200m sprint. It was the gelding's second win in
four starts.
Placais then had an easy
ride on TRIGGER LEGACY (Beautiful Crown - Capanetta by Captain's Gold) who
romped home by three lengths. It was only the second win in 24 starts for
the gelding who has cost A$120,000 as a yearling.
Placais wound up the day
with STANZOUT (Jungle Pocket - Crazie Punt by Straight Strike) who returned
to form after almost 10 months for his third win in 22 starts.
BABA GIFT and STANZOUT were both trained by
Bruce Marsh who was the star trainer of the day with four winners. The Kiwi
also saddled SALVAGENTE (Drama Critic - On Leave by Centro) and SADDLERS
CREEK (Scenic - Merriang Road by Persian Heights) to victory.
