PROFESSIONAL MAN returns to scale

PROFESSIONAL MAN, who won five races in 2008 including the Yang Di Pertua Negeri Gold Cup but managed only one win last year, has started the 2010 season in devastating style.

After picking up a win in a Table 1 Race in his seasonal debut three weeks ago, the five-year-old by Royal Academy out of the Mi Preferido mare Mi Signora followed it up by winning the RM300,000 Malayan Racing Association Cup over 1600m here today.

Ridden by Noel Callow who replaced the suspended Azhar Ismail, PROFESSIONAL MAN started a firm favourite in the annual race staged on rotation by the four turf clubs and proved a shade too good for his stablemate GOOD NATURE (Way Of Light - Tears We Cry by French Deputy), winning by a neck for his eighth win in 14 starts.

PROFESSIONAL MAN was the second leg of a double for Callow, his second double in two days. Earlier, Callow scored another popular win on THE REAL THING (Traditionally - Quarry by Sky Chase).
