Blue Spirit scores big upset in debut

BLUE SPIRIT gave punters the blues in the opening event for Class 4 - 1200m today, carving out a narrow win to a shock start to the afternoon.

BLUE SPIRIT raced in Australia as RAPID RHYTHM, notching up one minor win and two placings in 11 starts.

Making his debut in Malaysia today, BLUE SPIRIT (Joyeux Danseur - Wimpel by St Covet) was always well up with the pace and wore down the pacemaker SINAR HARAPAN in the closing stages to win by a head. He paid RM138 for a win.

TRIPLE SMILE, who ended his 2009 campaign with his maiden win in nine starts, has started the new season where he left off with a superb front-running display in the Da Ma Cai Stakes (Class 4 - 1600m).
