Jockey Azhar Ismail and trainer Kevin Coetzee,
who combined to bring off a treble yesterday, repeated the feat here today
with three popular winners: EASTERN BABY, GOOD SIGHT and SPEED TRAIN.
EASTERN BABY (Al Maher - Savannah by Centaine),
a beaten favourite in his debut last May, made amends to win the Class 4 -
1100m sprint over the straight course.
Costing A$120,000 as a yearling, the
three-year-old was placed twice in four starts in Perth before coming to
Malaysia.
GOOD SIGHT (Lonhro - Bonne Famille by
Anabaa), also a beaten favourite in his debut last start after registering
three placings in four starts in Perth, trashed his rivals by nine lengths
in the Da Ma Cai Stakes (Class 4 - 1400m).
SPEED TRAIN (Gold Mine - Shaayil by Haayil),
who won his debut last January, was back in the winner's circle after five
outings after a hard-fought victory in the last event.
With the treble today, Azhar is now just
four winners behind leading jockey Noel Callow in the chase for the
premiership.
