Nadal and Williams triumph at Kranji

On the eve of the 2010 Australian Open, two horses named after the defending champions emerged victorious at Kranji.

Ominous sign for the tennis superstars 'down under'?

NADAL (Bletchley Park - You Are My Destiny by Dauberval), whose only previous win came in November 2008, ended a run of three minor placings to win the Class 5, Div 2 - 1200m sprint on the polytrack.

WILLIAMS (Elusive City - Itti Bit by Bigstone) picked up his second win in five starts in the Novice - 1200m sprint, upsetting the odds-on favourite ESTEEM POWER (Towkay - Dolphin Miss by Dolphin Street).

ALL ELUSIVE (Elusive City - Florete by Volksraad), sold during the week, provided his new owners with a quick return when he scored a narrow victory in the Class 4 - 1800m handicap.
