After three consecutive
placings, WISEMAN came into his own with a convincing victory in the
Restricted Maiden - 1200m sprint at Sungei Besi here today.
The three-year-old was
backed as if he could not lose against his nine rivals today, especially
since his last rider was disqualified 12 months for his handling of the
gelding last time out.
With Jackson Low astride,
WISEMAN (Monolith - Garnett Court by Pompeii Court) never gave his backers
an anxious moment as he ran out a comfortable two-length winner.
There was a sensation in
Race 2 when the winner TOUESSROCK, ridden by Aaron Austin, lost the race in
the Stewards' room after a protest by the rider of the second horse AMARO
UNO (Festival Hall - Jeune Edition by Jeune) was upheld.
TOUESSROCK was relegated to
second and Austin was suspended three days for careless riding.
Apprentice S Thai Yang
landed his first win of the season when he piloted GRADUATE BOY (Ron Bon -
Arak Attack by Protos) to victory in the Class 3 - 1200m handicap. It was
the first win in 15 months for the seven-year-old who was also successful
twice in 2006.
